Has anyone had a problem with losing water (Not a great deal but enough to get the warning up twice in 3 months). I never had this problem before. Took it to local garage who had a look and replaced some water gaskets and told me cylinder head is OK but I am not so sure.
Any comments would be gratefully received

was it a saab trained indiependant or main dealer?. aas you can be out of pocket if not a saab garage as they are quite difficult to diagnose without tech2

Not main dealer but BMW specialist, he has worked on car before without problem.

Had two of those v6's, never had a problem with water leaks.
Have you checked for contamination in oil? Or oil in the Radiator? Any leaks in the cabin? could be coolant loss to the heater system? I would get it to a main dealer or specialist, those engines are usually bulletproof.

Hi

Have an 04 9-5 V6 TiD. Had a water leak, about 1 ltr / 500 miles.

I use a good independent garage. They found it quite easily (aparently!), some plastic valve supplying water to the heater had a hair line crack, he said the water was basically vaporising rather than leaking (if you know what I mean).

Had this repair done at an 84K service, and the bill was still less than what Saab wanted for the service alone including replacing the anti freeze.

Happy hunting.
