Has anyone upgraded their suspension on a 9-3 Aero 98-02 model?

After driving my other car, and getting into the Saab, the body roll is massive. I'm not sure if anything is wore out or not, but when I bounce the car, it bounces a lot, however the BMW barely moves. Does this mean that the shocks/springs are rubbish?

I'm thinking of putting these on but not sure if I need shocks and springs, or just springs to stop int rolling in corners so much?

To be honest, you'd be better off going to or getting the Abbott Racing suspension upgrade, which uses the Koni dampers but with their own springs, which are not as harsh as the ones in that Koni kit. And if you haven't done it already, the 'Viggen Rescue Kit' is a must for a 98-02 Aero as well, this alone makes a huge difference.

www.abbottracing.com is you don't know it already.

Other options, but a bit more expensive is the Saab approved Hirsch suspension kit. I know of a 02 Aero owner that is very happy with this kit fitted.

I thought about Abbott but its quite a way away from me and my local garage could put the Koni kit on. I still don't know what the Viggen Rescue Kit will really do for the physical handling, other that make the car "feel" better?

I'd still favour getting the Koni's and springs from Abbott by mail order and getting your local to fit them. The Abbott springs are way better than the springs in that Koni kit.
Or at the very least gett he Koni's from anywhere, but get the Abbott springs. The springs that come with the 'off the shelf' kits from any of the manufacturers will give you a horrid ride.

The Viggen Rescue kit will sharpen up the steering and 'looseness' in feel, because of the flex in the bulkhead etc., that is present around the steering rack clamp area for one thing. The rescue kit really is the best and most important mod to do above all else with a HOT engined Aero or Viggen.
I don't know any other way to try an emphasise that....
