SAAB specialists in west London?
Discussion
Hello all, I just bought a 1998 9-3 2.0 SE (non turbo) with 95k 2 owners and FSH for £1500, which is nice!
Just a quick question: I live in Richmond and would like to know if there are any good SAAB specialists in west London. For piece of mind I would like to get the cambelt and few little bits done on the car.
Cheerio

For a start you don't have a cam belt, the cams are chain driven, and should last 150k miles or more if the car is serviced properly.
Chain replacement with associated pulleys is quite expensive done properly, so unless it really needs it, it doesn't warrent doing.
There is a place in Northfields (200 yards from Northfields tube station) and I've seen people happy with them, but I'm also aware of a number of people that have had issues with them over quality of work.
There's another place a bit further away in North Acton, and BPV in Slough.
Otherwise, you will have to head south and there is a place down Leatherhead way, by the name of Carlssons IIRC.
Thanks Aeropilot!
Thats good news on the cambelt! It was a similar situation in my Porsche 968. I do feel a bit guilty though as I got the seller to knock some money off for a cambelt change, doh!
I'll have a look into those specialists.
Another question: Where do people buy new parts, German and Swedish, Euro Car Parts? I just need some odds and ends like headlight wiper blades etc
Cheers

Elkparts are good - www.elkparts.com as are www.partsforsaabs.com/ I've used both for Mrs B's NG900S
Also Hagstrom are good - they sell a lot of good used/refurb parts and trim - www.hagstromsaab.co.uk/accessories.asp
for new parts these are the boys
GSF usually being a shade cheaper with great prices for brembo discs
