Hi!
A friend of mine has a 9-3 2.0T SE and his SID panel is missing several lines of the LCD display. As the dealer wants several hundred punds for a new one, is there anyone out there who refurbishes them, or is it an easy DIY fix?
Thanks

There are some DIY fixes go to www.saabscene.com and serach in 9-3/9-5 forums. Also units are regularly available on eBay but you'll need to take it to a Saab Dealer/Independent with a TechII to match it to the car.

Mine went about 78k miles, was replaced under warranty, would have cost £200 or so + 15 mins fitting

I think the replacement units are available from Elk Parts. There are some guys on EBay who do refurbishments for about £100. I fixed mine myself and although had initial reservations. It has now been working with no loss of pixels for 6 months.

Have a look at the Saab Workshop - SID Pixel Fix if you want to fix it yourself.

This shows the fix on a new shape 900, but the process is effectively the same.

Cheers, Chris

The SID on my dads 93 is starting to lose pixels.
Does anyone know an independent garage in the North East that fixes them?

I don't think you can get them fixed at a dealer, they will just put in a new one.
