I've just done a head job on a '93 model 2.3 9000 16v. Unfortunately, it now won't start and the front electric windows appear to have packed up. Surely it must be something I've done- it just seems a little too coincidental.

The engine has the Jetronic injection (ECU in the scuttle) and has an old fashioned distributor- not the direct ignition of newer cars. It is non turbo, and the fuel pump does not prime when the ignition is first switched on (which I think it should do). The rear electric windows work ok (no sunroof), and the fuses and relays (situated in the glovebox are all ok).

Can anyone help?

The fuel pump relay is ok- it doesn't get a signal. Ditto the injectors don't recieve a signal nor does the ignition amplifier. I origianlly thought maybe it's the cranshaft sensor, but with the electric windows not working surely I've bungled? As I have no wiring diagrams for it I've run out of ideas.

Is it worth checking the earthing points?

Get yourself a Haynes manual, OK they might be crap these days but they at least have wiring diagrams.

Thanks for the info. It turns out that I'd left off the earth wires on the back of the plenum chamber (dozy fool) but the front electric windows were a poor alarm/imobiliser install in the fusebox area.

It now goes again!
