Just got an email from Klaas van Vuure at Beek Auto Racing - finally they found time to rolling road tune Saabine (Project 900T-R) after they put in the new Sweedspeed cams that'd been kicking around since late last year. Result: 291 bhp (217 kW or 295 PS-DIN in Euro money) @ 6,000 rpm, torque slightly down (thank God, the last thing I wanted was even more wheelspin in the lower gears and strain on the poor old gearbox) at 339.something lbs/ft (460 Nm) @ 3,500 rpm. This is exactly what I was hoping for, a gentle flattening of the torque curve with a bit extra fireworks towards the top end. Tractability should be that little better now.

I tapped in the numbers at the Dyno Plot website, and this is the resulting graph: www.dyno-plot.co.uk/dyno/dynoplot/id%3D312%26sort%3Dpow%26but_sea%3Dqs%26frcd%3D41/Saab-900-Turbo-Sweedspeed-RacingBeek-Auto-Racing.htm

At barely 1,200 kgs, you can bet this skip on wheels is a bit of a flyer...

Nice work Eric, I'm finally hoping to have "f900" tuned properly by the end of the summer.

Have some catching up to do now

Blimey! Good work, fella!

Have you got one of the early 5 speeds, or a 4 speed or a post 91 5 speed?

Worry about mine and it's running stock power!

When I have a bit of time over the summer I'm going to play with my APC a bit to see if I can free up a few horses. Planning on just turning up the boost a bit to start with on my spare APC and then 900aero'ing it.

Waiting until we move and I have room for a second car in case I blow the 900 up

Post-'91 5-speed. It's got the short #6 primary gearing and it's a Neo Brothers rebuilt box ! Still it has stayed in one piece running 281 hp for over 7,000 miles and three trackdays so far...

Well, to their credit it actually was a post-'91 box (albeit the #45614 from an NA/lpt) where the local rebuilders didn't specify a 'box type so it'd basically be pot luck as to what you'd get, it was rebuilt (although not to a high standard - noisy at certain road speeds probably due to pinion/ring clearnces not being re-set properly, quietened down somewhat now, and slow-witted synchro on 5th gear) and cheaper than what the one scrappy that had a post '91 box of unknown mileage and condition on the shelf...
