I seem to remember someone mentioning they had bought a 3 year warranty for a high mileage Saab, can you give some more details. My 2001 Aero estate has done 94k, which makes the saab extended warranty not very attractive. It's such a great car I would hate to have to write it off if the engine went bang.

When I bought mine from a dealer with 96k recorded it came with a 1 year or 20k miles warranty.

After the year the offer of a further extension arrived in the post but when I called to check the details they confirmed, as I feared, that the max mileage for renewal had to be less than 100k.

My dealer fixed a leaking water pump anyway after the guarantee expired at no charge to me. A slow water loss had been reported during the warranty period but had proved difficult to pinpoint until it got somewhat worse.

I'm hoping my suddenly non-functioning aircon is something simple ...

ledger forget the warranty i work for a saab specialist
GET YOUR SUMP REMOVED AND CLEANED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i do 4-6 cars a week 99% are blockrd and every engine ive replaced as had blocked strainers
this aplies to all saab engines in the 9-3 9-5 even if there is a full service history
any decent garage should do this for you and takes between 2-3 hours
this will save you thousands
