Dad's 9-5 had similar issues. Replacement unit I think, don't know if they can be repaired.

Do you mean the SID (in the centre console)??

There are DIY fixes involving taking it apart, or there are some places selling exchange units.

DIY fix is worth a try...

Keep an eye on ebay, they do come up but it's a common problem so you would probably end up paying more than that.

There are different levels of SID (SID1, SID2, SID3) and they differ between ng900 and 9-3. I did once know what they all did but I have forgotten now The one in the DIY link is a SID2 for ng900, sounds like yours is a 9-3 SID3 (with the extra buttons for setting speed warnings etc.)
