Great dealer service
Discussion
My 105k mile 9-5 Aero has been using water since I got it just over a year ago but a couple of checks at various times proved inconclusive in determining the cause.
My mileage has been quite low this last year so the normal wear and tear that would have made the problem more evident has been slow to occur. Finally within the last month it got to a point where the loss was about 1/2 ltr in 500 miles - much faster than it had been.
So, in she went yesterday and the earlier suspicions about the water pump being the problem were confirmed. This worried me as the 1 yr used car warranty ran out in September so a large bill was anticipated.
But no - as the problem had been reported but nothing conclusive found on the earlier visit and service the dealer was not prepared to make a charge and has covered the cost under warranty despite the official warranty having expired.
I have to say I am impressed. Whilst SAAB dealer prices and servicing costs are not the cheapest there are in the motor trade I am beginning to think it might be quite cost effective over all, especially with this sort of approach to customer service.
So hats off to Beechwood SAAB in Derby. Nice people and great customer service. Highly recommended.
