Hi Guys,

I'm upgrading the stereo to an ipod compatable unit which is a standard din size.
Two questions really :-

1. is it a straight forward job?
2. where can i source a good blanking plate for the hole that is left. I have the wood effect dash.

Thanks

Simon

Don't know about the physical part, but you are aware that the stereo will have to be 'divorced' from the car using the Saab-specific diagnostic tool, in order for it to ever work in another Saab (to which it has to be 'married' again)?

I would probabley not sell the old one but keep it so that when sell the car I can put the original back in.

Thanks for the reply

Fairly sure it is a simple task.

I think this is the sort of thing you're after :

Just a quick note to say v.impressed with elk parts I ordered the fascia plate sunday night and mrs w advises me that it has arrived today. Now I'm just waiting on the head unit which I incidentally got for £60 less than Halfrauds plus Halfrauds wanted to charge me for the ipod adapter etc which would have been another £60+.

I will let you know how i get on with fitting it.

ps As long as mrs w lets me have my present early!!!

I've found elkparts to be excellent in the past, they even sent me out a new 3-piece adaptor when I broke the one to my boost guage
