Yes, I am aware of the VRK to brace the rack etc. (on my list) but as I will shortly have a 'vert (crossed fingers) I was wondering about getting a front strut brace fitted to stiffen up the front end (doing this worked wonders on my Mazda RX-7 Cabriolet).

However, a quick internet search didn't turn up any hits. Does this mean a fsb isn't advisable - if not, does anyone know a current source, please ?

The car has a strut brace between the suspension towers as standard, I'm sure you can get uprated ones. I guess it's worth speaking to people like Abbott or Speedparts - at least you can find out of they are available!

Worth doing some real investigation into how it will affect the handling. It might make it too rigid at the front.

I'm no expert though, YMMV

Errr, yes. This is what happens when you buy a car without extensive time poking around under the bonnet - you miss the blindingly obvious fact that it has a s*$$%ng great strut brace which is connected to the bulkhead.

So no wonder there aren't any adverts for something that is already fitted.

I think I'll just go and poke myself in the eye for being so stupid.

if its any consolation, we disobeyed all the rules about buying 2nd hand cars;
1. Bought it in the dark
2.Not from the original owner (apparently now living in Bermuda)
3. Not even from his mates house, well he said it was, but he was out, so his mate came round to show the car!

so we in fact just bought a car at night from some bloke on a random drive near Cardiff!

glad to say its all worked out OK

Well, I wasn't quite as stupid as I first thought

You CAN buy an uprated strut brace (manufactured by Taliafero) for the 93 (and a six-point subframe brace - let's see the 'vert "scuttle shake" after that lot )
