Just been offered a 9000 2.3T Carlsson for 500 quid.

If only I had somewhere to put it The wheels & interior have to be worth that on their own!

Yes, 220k, air con, mot til april and some tax. Only problem is occasional misfire, thought to be electrical. Still a daily driver. Described as fair condition. Looks OK in pics, would benefit from a valet. 2.3 FPT, and it's the facelift model.

I am really tempted. Don't really need it though and can't afford to run another car...

You just have to look at these things rationally really.

220k means it must be, what, half way through it life?

Sounds quite tempting for a track day vehicle to be honest - could get Matt to breath on it.

Maybe a bit too good for such a fate?

Seems you have the some problem as me - nowhere to keep anything.

Yes, facelift CS Carlssons are as rare as hens teeth so it would be criminal to let it be scrapped or turned into a track car. Personally I would want to tidy it up and use it as an everyday car (very comfortable).

Just the thought of another 170 quid a year VED fills me with dread though... Insurance shouldn't be too bad as a second car though, limited mileage, and would be nice to take the weight off the T16S.

Argh.

I think I have just bought the car you talk of...
Dont worry it has gone to a good home

It will soon have 500 hp and be terrorising the roads of west wales

A bit of a misfire driving it over last night ..injector cleaner made a little difference

will try al the usual suspects
vacuum hoses ,amm,DI etc

thing I have a little concern
223000 miles ...origonal chain

bit of a tidy it will be a real nice motor...

Was that the Kent based one?

Good on you, I was just hoping it wouldn't get scrapped. Decided in the end I just can't afford it especially with 250 miles costing me 45 quid at the moment

Be interested to know what the misfire is. Is it DI based ignition or distributor? Trying to diagnose a misfire on mine at the moment

What type of injector cleaner did you use? Guessing when I get my 900 back up off it's belly the "misfire" will still be there.
