Ok, so I’ve been looking at 9-3 aero models for a while now, manual and petrol.

Is it me or are prices on the increase?

It’s been about 3 yrs since I last had a 55 plate 2.0T aero, which back then I paid around £1200 for with a stage 1 noob tune map done.

It’s was a cracking car, great performance, although the stereo kept playing up which was the only niggle with it.

Now I can’t seem to find anything even standard of similar quality for much less than 2.5k

I'd agree. I had a Saab 9-3 diesel about 7-8 years ago and paid £1,200 for it. I actually sold it for a little more albeit 6 months later and with a fair bit of servicing done.

The same kind of car and mileage is £2,500+ now it seems.

I’ve seen the last of the 9-5 at strong money ,shame they were so short lived…

9000's are now going up with good CSE's now going for £3500, and good Aero's going for £6k.
There was a fully restored 9000 Aero that recently sold for £11,000 in the UK. It had had a bare shell restoration.

I have had a few £1000-£1500 Saabs over the years.

Yes they have gone up, but I wouldn't say any more than the rest of the car market currently.

Gone are the days of a £500 shed. They're now worth £1200!

With cars of an age Saabs will be now, aren’t price rises quite often also to do with the worst examples being scrapped as much as any actual inflation in price for specific cars?

Net result is prices rise but due to the surviving cars being the nicer examples as much as anything.
