Hi All,

Following issue with my car recently.

- From cold:
When i am stationary and i select D, i see the Rev drops and jumps back up no normal (not noticed this before), when i put it in R, the Rev stays quite low (around 500 and the car constant state of shuddering and on the verge of stalling.

- After driven for a while - Car hot.
The same issues above except it gets worse and the car actually stalls in both D and R. From stationary if i move the gear to D or R and immediately take my foot off the break the car moves fine. Stalling issue are when my foot is on the brake for either D or R and i am at a very slow speed or near stationary.

No Rev issue when in N and car drives fine otherwise. Transmission fluid was changed about 8 months ago and the car has had regular service. No engine lights on. car done 75k

Any help appreciated.

Possibly a blocked EGR valve, it can cause strange rev behaviour and lack of power when pulling away. Had the this in a 1.9 Alfa 147 years ago. It's the alfa engine which is also used in Vauxhalls and Saabs. Remove, clean or replace and refit. A new EGR valve was only about £100 10 years ago.

EGR fully cleaned but issue with low RPM / stalling when hot persists when stationary and in gear with foot on brake. frown

MAF and MAP cleaned too.
