9-3 Vector Sport Questions
Discussion
Almost decided on a 9-3 Vector Sport for next family car.
Some questions.
Dealer not too clued up on the std fit Infotainment system. Acc brochure you can connect Bluetooth phone, use keypad dial on radio etc. Don't want to follow salesman selling up advice to go for higher system with satnav, sim card reader bla bla bla. Any comments from someone with experience. Current phone is Nokia 6110 but can change without too much trouble.
Headlights. I drive a lot of miles in winter on dark unlit roads. Current drive has HID as these were offered free from Uncle Ford. Marvellous on dip but bit poor on main beam. I see the 9-3 has these projector lights and those I have tried on other cars have been ..... well ..... carp, plus got flashed all time, which I never get with the HID. Are the std lights OK, or is the bi-xenon option worth it?
Finally, a really girly question. Fed up of blatting around at work and play in large saloons/estates coloured white or occasionally dark blue. Hence reason going for something different. Just cannot make my mind up on colour, (I know I know) fancied the solid red until I saw one on the road and it looked naff. You don't see many SAABs round our way and all the ones in dealer are those bland metallic colours that blend into the tarmac on both grey and sunny days. Any suggestions.
Btw the last Saab I drove was a 96 through Clipstone forest. Boy was that car just at home on the loose.

I'm considering a Vector Sport Combi (the estate when its launched)
Many people on this forum do not rate the Saab basic audio packages so an upgrade may be required

Interesting one on colour.
Flat colours don't look good on Saabs IMHO, especially white and red. Silver is boring. Black and that dark grey metallic always go down well, if a little conservative.
There's that metallic green on the one in the convertible advert, but it's a bit in-yer-face Looking on their web site I rather like Chilli Red (dark metallic red) and Fusion blue is ok too

Guys..
Have just ordered a new company car , 9-3 vector sport [150 bhp] in black . Looked at the black/red in the showroom and no competition .
Tried to get an Airflow model , but advised they are almost sold out and would need to choose from UK stock , so didnt bother .
Mate has the same car in chilli red and its also a looker . He is also a biker so appreciates performance and he is delighted with the car ( and he's fussy...)
Another mate is on his 5th Saab 9-3 .( his annual mileage is mental , about 60k + ) . He has had BMW / Audis in the past and considers Saab superior in terms of comfort and living with the car..
Getting mine delivered 1st week October ( for budget purposes ) but was quoted 8 weeks delivery as no problem.
Only concerns I have reading the car mags is that the interior can be a bit tired early in life ? Hope not as the ergonomics of the interior are good .
PS If you look in my profile , have sold the 3000m and looking for my 3rd TVR - has to have a V8 block in the front of it !! Who said think of the ENVIRONMENT !!!

Sounds good. I have heard the same about the interiors but have no first hand experience.
Try the 9-3ss forums on www.saabscene.com / www.saabcentral.com.
Nice choice of TVRs BTW, I am a big fan of the oldies and hope to have an "S" of any vintage in the stable in the next couple of years

Nicecupoftea..
Thanks for info on the SAAB forum sites , did'nt know they existed , will be well visited from now on !
Good luck in your search for a TVR .....try the TVR Car CLUB site , (www.tvrcc.com )some good ones going thru there , but better waiting until Autumn for seasonally lower prices .
There was a 1991 TVR V8 S for sale not long ago with 240 miles on the clock ( I think on this site or e-bay ) for £15k . Was very tempted but my wife just laughed ....so no more said about that one !!!!!!!!!!!
