Hi all

I have just swapped out the clutch in my manual 52 plate 9-5 Aero. The only thing left I need to do is hook back up the gearshift shifter. It is connected but something is massively out. Now I have looked into it more, I have realised that stupidly I only locked the shifter in the cabin, ie put the car in 4th and put an allen key into the hole under the leather gaitor. I completely forgot to do the one in the gearbox.

Anyway, I have hooked back up the linkeage to the gearbox (the one where bolt screws into the actual gearbox selector shaft and has no adjustment). I then tried to wiggle the gear lever to get gears, but it was jammed (the allen key was removed from the cabin hole).

I have now slackened right off the alignment clamp on the linkeage, and still cannot move my gear lever.

Is there any trick for getting this sorted out??

In my mind, I just need to get the actual box into 4th and lock it there with the pin, get the gearshifter in the cabin into 4th and lock it in place, then tighten up the clamp. Easy said, but its not happening at the moment.

Any advice????
