Glovebox won't open after cabin fan motor replacement

Hi all
New to Saab but I've got a 2003 convertible I just picked up for £1100
. There were a couple of major issues, 1) remote central locking not working which I've fixed thanks to a helpful post on this forum, 2) cabin fan not working, which I've also fixed.
I've put everything back as it should be and re-installed the glovebox but as soon as I closed it - sod's law, it won't open again

I intend to loosen the underside bolts tonight to see if I can wiggle it and get the button to work, but I thought I'd see if anyone has any bright ideas that might help?
