1999 Saab 9-5 2.3 estate
Discussion
My new Golf GTD estate is being ruined with garden rubbish logs etc. I priced fitting a towbar for a small trailer but it was over £350. Roll on last night and I bought a clean Saab 9-5 2.3 estate with full service history and just over 100k miles. Back in the day I had one for several years and it was a good car in so many ways. This car needs a couple of tyres and an MOT but it has a towbar and cost a fiver over half the cost of a towbar for the Golf. I remember getting the sump cleaned out on my last one but is there anything else i should check when it's with my mate who is an ace mechanic?
Lots of things you could check, like rear bushes (tyres wear on the outside edge) but is it worth spending the money? If it's as cheap as said(£180?) and only needed for tip runs then I'd just use it until it dies. It'd cost me more to put four tyres on my 9-5 Aero than yours cost, I'd be enjoying cheap, comfy motoring and fixing it if I absolutely had no choice.
