Potentially handing back my lease car in a few months and as such been looking at what options I have in the cheap secondhand car market.

Ideally looking 9-3 or 9-5 cars but potentially avoiding the Aero's and going for a less populer Vector / SE models with the smaller 2.0t, 2.0T and 2.3t engines.

Are they all responsive to a remap?

Yes, I'm pretty sure they are and with good results. If you buy an LPT version it'll probably be cheaper. Converting it to an FPT version is a doddle or certainly is for a 9000.

As long as it has a turbo, yep.

Thanks. I have noticed this for sale not far from me and its been listed for a while on ebay as well at a lower price.

Minty green, and the interior looks nice. Was wondering whether a nice ECU Boost would improve while keeping the looks standard.

That looks like a proper thing, buy it, google Karl aka SAABNoob and he'll uncork it for very little coin to 230bhp iirc....

My colleagues 9-3 has a remap box which remaps it to 315bhp and 550Nm. At 40mph+ is leaves my F30 330D xdrive behind!

It'd need more than a tuning box to achieve 315bhp.

Depends...
If its a Saab 9000 2.3 Aero or 9-5 Aero, It only needs a remap and a good exhaust to get to 300bhp.
Remaps on UKsaabs for just £80.

Aero models have TD04-15T turbos, so get better results than the lower models which have smaller turbos.

I've got the 1.8t Vector and went from 150bhp to 220bhp. All for less than a ton. Not bad at all. Just need to sort out the completely erratic idling behaviour as it keeps stalling.

A quick remap will probably sort that out, but you may lose a little power! smile

But it already has a Noobtune stage 1 Poley. It actually started doing it after but I need to look into it a little more as Karl (Saabnoob) kindly gave me some helpful pointers.
