A mechanic mate has a 2006 9-3 2.8T V6 Auto Saloon which has one of those tuning boxes you plug into the OBD2 port to change the map on the fly from OEM to economy and performance, which kicks out 315BHP and it's either 500Nm or 550Nm of torque (I can't remember which).

His daily commute has been ruined by major long term motorway road works (50mph restriction for miles upon miles) which aren't due to finish for another few years so it's ruining his enjoyment and fuel economy has dropped so he's going to look at a sensible smaller car to save the pennies but we are not sure if it's worth trading the car in for something or selling a car like this privately?

The cars runs perfectly without any issues and the bulkhead has no cracks. It's had a brand new steering rack put on also and new iridium plugs. What kind of money could he ask for if selling privately? I think it's about 110K miles on it.

Thanks

I got a price from 'we buy any car' only this week for my 2006 2.8t 9-3 cabrio. 90k. Mine is Hirsch tuned from new to 290bhp and they said £2,000.

I know that's not a proper valuation but it makes me think I'll just keep it for the foreseeable.

Buying another car to save some pennies, always sounds ridiculous to me.
