95 sat nav

Not sure if I'm being a numpty but sat nav appears to be malfunctioning. It shows the map but the car is not tracking properly. There is a white GPS symbol with a red line through it. So clearly the GPS isn't functioning. But why? Do you have to set it up/calibrate it? I'd be surprised but not familiar with Saab sat nav. Thanks.
