SWMBO has a 2001 SAAB 2.0t SE Convertible. For some time now it's been a problem to start in the mornings. Unless the weather is really warm and dry it takes ages to start. It always does, but rarely first turn of the key.
The problem is worse when the weather is wet. I've tried the usual things, new battery, new temperature sensor, cleaned AFM, new plugs etc. There are no error codes reported and the car runs fine when started. When she comes back to it after work it always starts fine.
This morning the weather was dry, but the temperature was -1 so I went out to start it for her. It started before the engine even turned once!!!!??
I'm assuming that it may be a problem with damp (condensation?) getting in somewhere? The problem is where?
In the old days I'd have taken off the distributor cap and sprayed inside with WD40, but, of course, modern cars don't have distributors!
Are there any known areas on the SAAB which are prone to getting damp? Coil pack module?
