it doesn't increase performance, it bypasses a problem in the APC unit and restores stock boost levels. find the unit, unplug the top hose and stick a bolt in it - tiewraps are your friend when it comes to securing said bolt.

The evap system that connects to the cobra and throttle body has check valves. If the valve between the throttle body and purge valve fails then boost pressure is bled back into the compressor inlet. This results in all sorts of running problems including a drop in boost.

The bolt mod stops the turbo boost dropping but doesn't stop the pressure bleeding away. removes the symptom but the underlying problem is still there

The only way to fix it properly is to replace the pipe/check valve or do an 06 evap mod if it's not already been done.

If you just want a performance increase & don't have a problem then google noobtune.

Remember with the bolt mod, only remove the hose, put a bolt in there to block it, and leave the port on the bcv valve open, i.e. don't block that too.
