Hello all,

I'm after a bit of advice. My friend has a Saab 9-3 SE. 1998. 2.0 petrol turbo. Convertible. The clutch went on it the other day and he had it towed to a Saab place in North London. They are quoting him £1100 to replace the clutch. I know not that much about Saabs (had a 99 briefly at university - stolen) but this seems utterly mad to me. Anybody know roughly how much it SHOULD cost and a decent Saab place not too far away from Crouch End in London?

£1100 seems extremely steep!

Many thanks for any advice you can give me.

To get a reasonable quote, I personally would give DCA Saab in Upper Bucklebury a call.
That's where my Saab goes when it's broken! I've always found their price and services great.

Edit:
Here is their number, 01635 860086

DCA did my first aero back in the day - they were happy to fit parts supplied by me (i wanted a viggen clutch). bill for sump drop, clutch change, fluids etc was £440.

i got a loaner from them which i duly filled up expecting to be in it for 2/3 days. they called me mid afternoon the same day to tell me it was ready
