Saab 9-3 TTID Aero, good to drive?
Discussion
Hi
I had an TTiD 09 up until 2 years ago.
Before that I had a 95 3.0 TDi, and the wife had a 2.0T Aero soft top (till 6 weeks ago), so experienced quite a few Saabs over the years.
To be honest, the TTiD was the worst of the lot.
The power delivery was harsh, the clutch not very smooth, heavy in slow traffic. Due to clutch, wife used to hate driving it, she much preferred her own Saab.
Yes, if you put your boot down it could move, but the engine always seemed to sound like it was working hard and not enjoying providing what you were asking it to do.
The previous 3.0 TiD was very smooth (as you would expect from a V6, but it was only the same power, 180 BHP), as was the 2.0T Aero petrol accelerated smoothly and effortlessly, it was in a different class!
MPG, mine averaged early 40's. much less than the quoted figures, and if you cruised at 80+, this figure could drop.
Sorry its not a positive response.
