....there I am trawling pistonheads for any info on the Saab 9-5 & best tuning upgrades (I'm just about to buy one)
and someone plonks a Saab forum in!
Excellent! I must be blessed....
Right couple of Q's for you boys with scandinavien metal:
1)Why do new Saabs depriciate so quickly? (not that I'm complaining) - Is there something missing?
2)I hear that servicing costs can be pretty lumpy - any recommended independant garages SW london/Surry?
3)any other performance Saab related links?
cheers all!

I too am contemplating buying a 9-5.
I have come across a lot of good info on www.saabscene.co.uk
also look at
www.abbottracing.com and
www.elkparts.co.uk
So, possibly 2 new additions to the saab community on here in the not too distant future!

For Sheer tuning greatness I would always reccomend Maptun, there is some info about the various tuning companies for Saabs here:

Maptun:

They have even taken the 95 up to:
Car: Saab 9-5 2.3t
Year: 1999
Effect/torque: 440 Hp/590 Nm

I've got a Maptun st3 on my 9-5. Highly recommended.
The UK site is www.maptun.co.uk
As for the deprectiation, the market for large cars is minimal and Saabs will never, for good or ill, have the same 'flash' appeal as a Beamer or Merc.
