A few (too many) years ago I had one of the few Hirsch 93 Troll R's in the UK as a company car.
God I miss that thing!
I'm looking for something to replace a Subaru 2.5 turbo Forester and was remind of the Saab's when I saw a 2.8 wagon pass me this week.
Then I got to thinking it would make a great lugger and "project" car hehe
It also feels like a good idea to get back in to a SAAB whilst its still possible.

So a few "questions"
How robust is a manual 2.8?
I'd like to "tweak" it a bit (I can't help it!) so I'm contemplating better intake, sports cat and suitable exhaust mods, so what are the most cost effective exhaust mods befre I let Saabnoon lose on it?
Any good mechanics that know these in the West Midlands?
Whats parts supply like at the moment?

Yep he's on my radar
I may give him a call to see if a 2.0T is a better bet than a Viggen

Not for a 2.8 V6 it isnt, Karl doesnt do them

But they are very tuneable, a remap alone sees them at 300bhp, i.m running a full 3" turbo back decat system, bigger intercooler, Bsr intake and a JZW tune for 350ish bhp

GRIFFIN DAI shout

As others have said, Karl doesn't do 2.8t.

2.0T SS can go to around 250 from stage one.

I know what you are saying
The Hirsch Troll R started out ad a 2.0t LPT and end up at 285 BHP
( I miss that car frown )
Problem is the 2.8 is £475 tax on a "toy" car that is a run around tinkerer for me frown

With the v6 its only cars registered after 23rd March 2006 that get hit with the higher tax band, older cars are cheaper. I've just stuck 6 months on mine for £154 (55 plate)

Only gripe with mine is the audio, its terrible. The facelift (07 onwards) is much easier to upgrade with a double or single din but again your hit with the higher car tax frown
