Saab 1.9Tid 120 Timing belt
Discussion
Hi, I'm going to look at a 2007 9-3 Vector Sport 1.9Tid [120] later this afternoon. It has done 67k miles so I understand that the timing belt and water pump will need changing very soon. I've tried contacting the local Saab authorised service centre but got some dimwit who didn't even know they did Saab cars! Does anybody know roughly how much it'll cost to change the belt and pump? It'll be handy as a bargaining tool over the price.
Also, speaking to the seller via text earlier he said the car went in for a manual DPF regen in Spetember last year. He has done 16k miles in the last 10 months according to the service stamps with regular long journeys from Cheshire down to Manchester, Newbury and London. Surely these journeys should have given enough chance for the DPF to regen itself? Could it just be that he is a slow plodder and at low revs on the motorway it hasn't got hot enough?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
