Hi all, I'm in need of a new set of boots for the Saab and wonder if you guys could give any recommendations.

The car is a 93 MY2005 2.0 Aero convertible and currently has 4 different brands on it from the previous owner! There is one Falken 914 which I believe isn't too bad but would be willing to change them all.

I have recently purchased a 2005(55) 93 Aero Hirsch Convertible. I looked at quite a few before buying, all of which seemed to be in very nice condition aside from having mismatched or just budget tyres. It seemed to me a very strange phenomenon!a low number of owners and seemingly well cared for!?...anyway, my car has 4 matching Semperit tyres and I can report that it rides very nicely. I would highly recomend them. Though, I will be swapping them off for some Continental or Michelin Winters this month

I just replaced them all last night as one of the Pirellis developed a massive egg in it and the whole car was shaking.

Decided to get Dunlop Sport Maxx RT and had the whole car done as it also had 4 different brand tyres on eek

Will report back when they have been scrubbed in.

Update on the new tyres after they have been scrubbed in: They have totally transformed the handling of the car. Great grip in the wet and the car feels more confident in all situations. thumbup

I've used Michelin Primacy tyres for a couple of years now, always found them very good hence not trying a different brand.

Wet and dry grip is great, not very noisy and great mileage out of them. I get around 16k to a set, which I think is not too bad at all for a FWD car with a bit of poke.

They are pricey at around £100 a piece but I think worth the money.

Edit: This is on an SS Aero not convertible

I might go for these on the front of my 9 5 Aero when the Goodyears F1 Assy 2s are kaput. I like them and am fine with them on the back but on the front the sidewalls feel a bit soft. Do the Dunlops have a stiffer sidewall?

The main stealer fitted a full set of Pirelli PZero Nero tyres to my 07 cab Aero when I got her. Good in the dry but less so in the wet.

It doesnt help that I get a bit of torque steer now since Karl Noobed my car up to 370NM of torque hehe

Update! Had two Dunlop Sportmaxx RTs fitted to the front on Saturday. Too early to tell yet but they do feel quite similar to the F1s.

As I've been telling everyone who's asking about tyres, I have a 2001 9-3 Aero and put 4x Kumho Ecsta Le Sports on it, they are probably the best tyres I've had, and I've done P-Zeros, Dunlop Sports etc.. at £80 a corner fitted i think they're spot on.. grip is amazing in the wet and dry and I drive like a lunatic (a safe lunatic)
