2001 saab 93 autoconvertible

Hi I am wondering if anyone can help/advise me with a problem I have? I am looking to buy a used saab as in the subjec. It has 63, 000 and full s/h.

I took the car fo a tes drive and found that I had to apply quite a lot of pressure on the brake pedal to stop. The seller said it was probably as the car had no been use for some titime and this was evident as there was some rust spots on the disc surface the pads also looked quite low.

My question is can anyone let me know if there is a known problem with saab brakes or common problems that have these symptoms. Any advice would be really useful as I want to buy the car but not have to pay out a fortune to sort the brake? Thanks
