Hey guys, you're looking at the newest member of the aero-nautical club known as Saab owners!

But seriously, just picked up an 03 2.0t Aero and I'm absolutely besotted with it. There is so much car here that I feel like I've stumbled upon some industry secret. I dont think pictures can do this car justice - the missus didn't like the look of it on Autotrader but soon changed her tune when she saw it on the drive...

So yeah, just thought I'd shout about my new purchase and introduce myself to other like-minded car enthusiasts. I've already signed up to uksaab and now I'm wondering what to embark on next with this car.Admittedly I hhaven't looked too much into mods and the like for Saabs so I wouldn't know what the most worthwhile tuning options are - that's where you good folks come in!

You can get it mapped by Karl on Uks for the price of a tank of petrol, Hirsch prices are way over the top

Cheers for the responses guys, I'm open to exploring all options. Cant remember which size 't' it is on the back. I can see my car beauty from the office window but it's facing me.

Incidentally, what are differences with these models?

Very similar to me, brought an 04 aero vert in April loved it as did the wife. Last weekend went out and brought a 56 9-3 Tid estate. You get a lot bang for your buck.

Intrigued. Who is Karl and what are the benefits of such a map - perceived or otherwise?

Can anyone put me in touch with Karl so that I can discuss this in further detail? I'm interested to know what the figures are, whether there are any complimentary mods to support the map, what the potential drwabacks could be.

That's unless anyone here can answer these questions for me....

im sure just a remap with no other hardware takes that engine to about 230bhp, as dai said, just make 5 posts on uks and you can send him a message through the site, he really does know these engines and i dont ever recall one customer who wasnt 100% happy after he has worked his magic

Just checked your location and i.m sure he.s not very far away from you at all

Thanks guys, I'm getting some great feedback here! I've joined UKS already and was just about to post asking what my exhaust options were.

Thanks again

Errrr....

I just popped down to the car park and noticed the badge on my car only says Aero with neither a small nor big 't' in sight.

So which engine do I have and how will this affect upgrades?

What model are you having remapped? And those gains mentioned above sound great!

I'm trying to get hold of Karl for a quote! 'Roughly' how much would it be? Can PM me if you like...

I thought I'd chip in as I have emailed Karl recently. I'm looking to buy a 9-3 aero auto soon and wanted more info on the remap options.

A stage one takes the car up to 250bhp and 370nm torque. Stage 2 requires a 3" downpipe and a sports cat at the minimum and gets you 270bhp and 380nm torque. The costs are £80 in person or £85 post. His website is http://www.noobtune.co.uk/

Is there any point dyno'ing the car before and after or do Karl's map always put out the same figure across the board?

I wouldn't bother before, they're meant to be 210 standard. I'd dyno after though and see how it's behaving, then maybe Karl can tweak the map again.
I think they're all around the same though give or take so wouldn't be too bothered, I don't think many of us dyno unless there's a rolling road day planned...
