I'm after a Maptun exhaust system for my 2001 9-3 Aero....

Turbo back or cat back? Cat back can be bought off eBay through Neo brothers. They are crap though, 2.5" and not stainless. I'd get one made if I needed another one. Also need a flexi pipe as it doesn't join up to the downpipe. Try MIJ in Birmingham or there's a place in south wales, Prospeed I think.

I did specify a 3" downpipe.. will let you know when I get a response, no idea what price to expect but hoping for something around the £200 mark... might be wishful thinking!

right, well I didnt get a response from the online enquiry but just gave them a call.. to cut a long story short it sounds like its gonna be about £650+ for the full system and cat-back...

Yeah, I'm getting similar prices from everywhere to be honest but its just too rich for me, just spoke to Mike Edwards (Edwards Motorsport) he said I'd be looking at £450 to £650 or £700 ish, obviously couldn't give me an exact price without seeing the car... I really wanted to go for the Stage 3 tune as well...


If I can get a Maptun system for £450ish, are they actually any good or am I better off not bothering and going for just a normal off the shelf replacement and saving a bunch of money.. ?

If I had known you only wanted to spend that much i could have saved you the bother phoning, you wont get anything at that price, as said £500-700 would be about the norm, I,m paying £600 next month for a twin 3" system and that's only from the downpipe with no cats and 2 silencers

An off the shelf downpipe from maptun or abbott are going to be about £500 on their own. you get away wth just a 3" downpipe for stg3. Sign up to UKSaabs forum and keep an eye out on there. i think user hotjones has a full system for sale at the moment.

I had a super Saab exhaust made up by Longlife exhausts - Leeds for me but they are all over - and it wasn`t made of sardine can gauge stuff unlike some more famous examples. Had it as quiet as the original but they`ll tune it as you wish.
