Hi Steve,

I have a 900 T16 with an odd engine fault that's stumped the local garage. Mostly in hot weather, but sometimes when it's cooler too, there is a hesitation on acceleration (anywhere between 1250 and 4000 rpm), accompanied by a sudden and very harsh kangarooing when coming on and off the throttle when coasting. Power is cut suddenly, and reintroduced just as suddenly, sometimes knocking the car out of gear. Recent work adjusting the fuel/air mixture and renewing the MAF sensor has not cured this.

Any pointers very gratefully received

Hi Steve, got a 91 900 xs 16 valve,crank sensor has died,any pointers on where to get one in the uk please?

Am making enquiries on that one as you've looked at the main source. Maybe the throttle position sensor but I am guessing. Will comment again after some enquiries with others that know better than I.

A sticky issue that I'd like to resolve permanently by offering a refurbished item, I've found a sensor that I think will do and am hopeful of a new solution very soon. Other than that it's finding a good used one. I can probably locate one if you have problems locating one.
