if you can and it's in your budget try to get hold of a TTiD (180bhp) cracking car.

I'm off to Monza next week in mine and looking forward to the drive.

check service history and if you do buy it join the saab service club
http://www.saabparts.com/en-gb/uk/offers/saab-serv...

and use the £9.99 offer to ensure that it has all the latest software updates on it for the DPF

Got a list of service history from the gargae.

Its an ex fleet car but seems to have been well looked after.

Clutch & flywheel assy replaced Jan 2012 at 70k

It then appears it had a leaking water pump at 82k

So pump, timing belt were all replaced.

300 miles later radiator was replaced - due to a stone jammed between rad and..... (missed from scan of docs)

These are the major faults that need looking after aren't they?

Anythign else major that I should be concerned about?

Is the TT that much better an engine?

Fuel economy is extremly important to me in whichever I choose.

It'll be used purely for going up and down the motorwasy every day.

've had the 150bhp and the 180bhp (now Hirsch'd to 200bhp)

the 180 is a lot smooth in my opinion, and lot easier to drive.

Mines an auto (well both were) and I'm getting between 48-56mpg on trips depending on my mood.

I used to drive Manchester > Bristol and back twice a week and was getting mid 50's by taking it easy and watching the road and conditions

I've had 620-640mile out of a tank

Both very local to me.

Might well have a look this weekend!

What were you getting from the single turbo in mpg terms?

Thanks for all the info - much appreciated.

Same issues to look out for on both cars though?

Water pump / Timing belt?
Fly Wheel?

Anythign else to be aware of?

timing belt is 90K on the TTiD

ensure that all the latest software updates have been done (£9.99) at a Saab Garage
http://www.saabparts.com/en-gb/uk/offers/saab-serv...

if your doing long runs then DPF wont be an issue.

Try both an 150 and 180 but I bet your going to prefer the 180

also a Hirsch upgrade is an excellent option and makes the car feel soo smooth when you use the power.

Well I went to view them both yesterday.

I ended up buying the single turbo.

The tt was a nice car but in this case wasn't the one.

Dealer one was cheaper in the first place and I also managed to get them to tax the car for a year, through in another service and knock a bit of cash off.

Also the private one had no history of belts & water pump being done, while the dealer one had got both belt, pump and clutch done in the last year. Also a three month warranty with it.

Condition wise not much between the two.

Looking forward to picking it up on Wednesday.

congrats and welcome to the Saab Club

shame about the TTiD

Still the TiD is a strong engine.

I'm looking forward to our drive to Monza in mine this week.
Just got to sort out the headlights

I run a 2008 Ttid sportwagon.

Cracking car, but the trim vibrates internally a lot.

Very reliable motor and cheap to run for such a large car. 50mpg+ motorway and 28mpg locally.
