Keep on top of oil changes and level..

Bad oil pressure can cause the timing chains to stretch and bad running, I've not heard of one snapping so it can be sorted but still a huge job.

For ref I changed mine every 6 months.

They like to go through ignition coils. Buy replacements from rock auto.

They map well - mine was 300hp 390lbft

I want another

Remap now then!!!

I've got a JZW stage 1 'aggressive map' on mine, quoted figures are 320bhp & 409ft/lbs! I need to dyno mine but going off the previous Saabs performance I don't think it's far off the numbers!!

The difference between this and standard is astonishing! It's pretty brutal tbh wink

You'll not get a genuine 320hp out of the standard turbo. It simply can't flow enough.

Mine was on the limit at 305hp but it was getting far too hot so we pegged it back to 300 to play it safe.

Of course the cars that start at 260hp on the rollers will make 320hp.. but the 260hp is BS to start with. Mine made 240hp standard so a genuine 60hp gain - the torque was daft. Slightly quicker car all round than my 335d but it was terrible, really really bad on fuel.

Hmm, not sure mate. I know John (JZW) had these dynod in the states with 320 stage 1, 357 stage 3 and 375 stage 3+ with the bigger IC & custom tune (all in the JZW link above) but I need mine dyno'd to see what it's actually putting out as it could be close or could be well off....certainly feels rapid (Ill have to dig out the links) no idea how but he's managed to get more from a stage 1 remap vs Maptun's stage 3 tune!! John doesn't mess about though, he's built some monster Saabs over the pond biggrin

Tbh it's not the bhp that I'm bothered with its the torque that's most impressive, nice to have it on tap so low down, makes it such a nice car to drive now smile

His stage 3+ tune makes around 30 more ft/lbs than my old gt30'd 9000 Aero spin

I remember JZW.. He's built some belters.

I never saw a before and after on the same dyno, same day. But that was the same with any tune I looked at. Until I see a before and after which shows actual gains then I won't believe it.

I believe their dyno will show 320hp, I bet it showed well over for the standard car too !

But yeah I agree the torque is daft (I'm sure your map is similar to the one I had) whilst rolling there wasn't much that would keep up. Like I said my 335d was slower - and they're very quick!

Interesting, I've just been wondering about return to Saab (had six before), and was considering a 2.8t cabrio... good news!
