Considering one of these to replace my Mazda and was wondering if anyone had any experience of them and things to look out for. Also, what's the situation like for getting hold of parts etc should the need arrive, what with Saab's situation?

Thanks in advance.

Hi. I have owned a turbo x for nearly 3 years and have had no problems so far although I have only done 11000 miles and the car has done 26000 miles. Parts are available although they have to be ordered from Sweden. I was told a year ago I needed new rear shocks and the garage failed the mot. The shocks were over £800 plus fitting. I went to another garage and it passed as it has this year as well. The bill was £199.00 for a service and mot. It drinks petrol, probably 20mpg but makes a great noise.

My neighbour is selling his -

I've had the pleasure of driving this car, the engine is very smooth and effortless, great ride quality too, nothing unruly like previous Saab's I've driven. My neighbour is averaging just over 30mpg on his 50 mile commute. And they sound absolutely amazing!

The only thing he has had to replace is a tyre pressure sensor!

Apparently the suspension is rock hard so not great on most UK roads. Plenty of advice at saabscene.com

I actually thought the ride was quite good, absorbed bumps well enough on back roads, not as good as my ST220 though .

I have had one since new and clocked up almost 70,000 miles

Very Fast ,holds the road in all weathers, haldex system works really well but not a track car ,suspension a little bouncy, interior ok,comfy seats, std sat nav pants ,sportwagen has reasonable space ,fuel consumption around 25 mpg,Tyres last about 20-30 k ,fronts wear out first .
sounds great

Things that go wrong

Shocks (rear self levellers can leak ,costs £600 to replace )
TPMS sensors on the wheels corrode
And the timing chains can stretch (mine did ...) £2500 bill ....I blame the stupid service interval ,I am changing the oil at 8k now ,,,,
Haldex can fail ,you need to change the oils at 50 k to avoid trouble ,and trouble is expensive

It is a complicated car and it needs taking care of ,avoid abused examples ,they could be money pits
