Really hoping someone here can help , my wife has a 1999 Saab 93 2.0t and on Thursday it just died on the motorway and would not restart. It turns over fine and the rev counter moves up so i’m informed the cps should be ok. I have checked all the fuses and swapped relays round, I have sprayed starting fluid into the throttle body but again nothing. My friend came round with his Snap On Sonus and there was a stored code of p1640 (Main Relay Circuit No Voltage To ECM Pin No. 1) I have no idea where to start looking to solve this problem and its driving me up the wall so any help, guidance or suggestions would be massively appreciated.

Yeah ive took a chance and orderd a DI uint form eBay so ill see what heppens I guess. The code is the bit that threw me as it doesnt seem to have any relation to the problem and could have bene an old stored code that didnt put a CEL on.

Di would be my initial move as well. Worst case, sell the part on.

Di....if it's a 1999 it could be either T5 or early T7 management. T7 di is cheaper and will work on a T5 engine but T5 di won't work on T7 ecu.
