Hi

The Car (Saab 95 (2002)) has just developed an issue that is intermittent when trying to start her up after the engine has warmed up.

The car always starts when engine is cold but when warmed up she sometimes will not start up.
All the lights and radio etc go on but the engine will not start.

Then when left for anything between 5 minutes and 15 minutes the car will start no problem.

There are no error codes listed even when checked with my OBD2 scanner.

Help please !

Probably the Crank Position Sensor (CPS), common fault, buy two and put one in the boot for the AA man to fit next time!!!

Went through two in 221K miles !!!

While I'm waiting for delivery of the part I was told that if this problem happens again press the brake pedal a couple of times and then start car.

Well this actually works on each time the car failed to start !

How does that work ? Any ideas anyone ?

Pleased my diagnosis was correct, good luck with the car, I loved my 9-5, only got rid of it because an aircon fault would be a dashboard out job, and at 221K miles it seemed prudent to move on!

Yes they are very well put together and is proving to be a great car to use on a daily basis.

Touch wood the aircon so far is ok so hopefully the car will be fine for the near future.

Cheers !
