On road stability. Any ideas?
Discussion
My 2001 9-3 unfortunately doesn't seem to be all that stable on the road at the moment. Does anybody more knowledgeable than myself have an idea of how to improve it? It seems to need a lot of correction to keep in a straight line, and tends to follow all the small grooves and bumps in the road...
I was thinking possibly front tyres, steering rack clamp, or maybe suspension?
It's an Aero if that helps...
Thanks!

I really hope it isn`t , but it could be a cracked bulkhead - pages & pages online - try http://www.uksaabs.eu/UKS/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=...
for a start - hopefully the clamp just needs tightening...
Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, fortunately (or otherwise) I had that done a few months ago, and the symptoms don't seem to be returning (clunking steering /moving pedals)...
I live in an area with a lot of speed bumps, so I'm thinking it might be worth getting the suspension checked over and the alignments looked at...

On my previous 9-3 convertible I felt something a little similar so got her up on the ramps and found that one of the front damper springs had snapped about an inch up its height. I put it down to potholes
So maybe your thoughts on speed bumps might be spot on
