I got the wobble on acceleration... 9-3 Aero Hot...

Hi all...

I fairly recently got a 2001 9-3 Aero Hot with 85k on the clock..

Im getting a fair bit of front end wobble on acceleration and in the corners.. had the wheels tracked and balanced and they're fine. I took it into Abbott Racing and they've said it is going to be the Inner Driver.. Coupling/Tripod Bearing.. drivers side drive shaft... been quoted about £320 for second hand parts and labour.

I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and found that it was something more minor than replacing these parts? or if getting the NEW aftermarket parts would be better than second hand OEM parts? (the new OEM parts are £500!)

A couple of years ago I had a horrendous wobble when off the power in my 9-5 and it was the NS driveshaft. I had a secondhand one fitted and I think it came to about £200 all in. If it's the OS you shouldn't need to drain the gearbox/new seals etc if it's the same as the 9-5 set up. SAABtec in WGC did mine and they are highly recommended.
