Morning all, Merry Christmas!

This just stared yesterday with my Saab, while cruising down the motorway it appears there is some sort of electrical fault. The ABS, TC and Stability all failed on me, the cars computer is now no longer reading what fuel I'm using (apparently I've done 13 mpg just cruising at 70 which is usually 32mpg) and when the fault happened the dials all dropped then came back.

Car runs fine and feels ok so I'm just wondering if anyone has had this fault before. Is it just a sensor fault or something more serious? With the dials dropping for a few seconds I'm thinking possibly something shorted out?

Any ideas on this would be appreciated - hopefully an easy fix, I think my garage are going to be sick of the sight of me!

Could be an ABS sensor or something along those lines. connect it to a diagnostic machine and that will tell you. You can buy cheap ones of the bay.

Thanks for the replies. Had seen that thread after some digging. What confuses me is that other problems which started with the ABS etc. failure is that the steering lock doesn't work, when the errors came up all my dial dropped for a few seconds then came back on and the trip computer mpg dropped steadily and now sits at 17mpg however fuel consumption doesn't seem to have changed (averaging 32mpg). Next time I fill the car I'll work out the consumption.

Seems odd that these other issues came up and no mention of the same issues I can find in related posts to the rear left abs sensor problem.

I tested the battery, only with a multimeter unfortunately as don't have a tester to test under load but the reading came back at 12.15v right before starting it - when running on the alternator read 14.9v. What sort of readings should I be pulling from it? Some searching online comes back with 12.65 as 100% charge. The old man thought it may be a dodgy cell in the battery however the car starts fine.
