Merry Christmas all,

Got a funny one for you, took my 9-3 to a garage for a simple oil and filter service. After a few days of driving through town, the car started being sluggish, it changes gears around 2500rpm and if i put my foot down it changes at 3k.

So had it out on the motorway today for a longer journey and no improvement. Also the normal motorway fuel consumption of an average 50mpg is now closer to 30mpg. After 200 miles it shows 33mpg.

There's something not right , but not quite sure what it is. No indicators on the dashboard, no funny noises from engine or gearbox. Its just slower in accelerating until the turbo kicks in, like somehow its underpowered. It goes fine well after 70mph.

What could it be ? Its like somehow the gearbox is changing later because there's less torque available. Would it be something to do with the new oil ?

I just cant explain how it was fine prior to changing the oil, than got wose after. Checked the oil level and on the dipstick it's a finger width over the max. Could this be something to do with it ? Too much oil affecting the pressure.

Not sure if it's the issue but I wouldn't be driving it if it's that much overfilled.. Unless it's back to the garage!

Overfilling can cause high oil pressure and blow oil seals as well as blow past the piston rings valve seals etc, take it back and get them to sort it.

i took it back to AC but they were useless, as expected. Their workshop foreman test drove the car and he said it is fine, so wouldnt even consider removing oil.

That after I was told they put in 5 liters of oil. When it should be only 4.2l.

So had to drain the extra oil myself, luckily its not that hard.

As the problem wouldnt really go away, did some more reading and cleaned up the EGR valve myself. Next the turbo boost sensor.

The car drives a lot better after all this. Thanks AC, bunch of monkeys!!
