TTiD, big miles, reliability, spares!

Half thinking about taking a leap into the unknown of a 9-3 TTiD convertible as a daily...

What with the lack of manufacturer support would I be mad?

Also I'm not adverse to a higher mileage car - how is the TTiD for racking up the miles?

Anything TTiD or 9-3 convertible specific I should be aware of??

I will be watching this one with interest.

I have had an 09 TTid for the last 18 months, gone from 19k to 70k with no problems.

Plan is to run it till it drops, which is when, 150k??

Also have a tag top 05 Aero (now the wifes car), has gone from 18k - 72k in 5 years with no issues other than a front wheel bearing.

Well that's pretty encouraging! So you'd recommend? I've driven a facelifted saloon and thought it was pretty ok, safe, predictable etc - how does the lack of roof impact on the drive?

Come on guys, my 93 180 Ttid turned over the 70k mark yesterday, there must me some higher mileage drives out there to give me hope the car will keep going for a while?
