9-5 Aero Fuel Pump question...
Discussion
Morning all,
Just trying to do a bit of pre-diagnosis here before I take into the garage but the Aero is leaking fuel (which isn't good!).
As far as I can make out, it's only happening when the ignition is on, and it's leaking from a plastic covered unit underneath the rear driver-side door. Is this plastic covered unit the fuel pump, by any chance??
If not, what might it be? I'm hoping it's just a cracked hose or something and the fact that there are no drips when the ignition is off suggests it's the fuel pump system to me...
Any ideas appreciated!

It's the fuel filter - cheap and easy to replace. I've had two issues with mine: on one occasion the sealing washer at the tank end began to weep as it hadn't been fitted correctly; on the other, bizzarely, the filter had corroded through.
There should be a plastic cover to protect from stone damage, and there should be a rubber insulating strip to prevent corrosion between the steel mounting clamp and the aluminium filter housing: on mine the strip was missing, so the filter went through in holes in less than a year.
I suspect that it didn't help that it wsn't a genuine SAAB filter.
