Saab 9-5 griffin v6
Discussion
Just been looking at a 1999 my Saab 9-5 griffin v6, looks tidy enough, 94k miles, cambelt changed at 69k by a Saab specialist sounds a bit ticky on the top end, is this normal and what else should I be looking for, The car is very clean inside and tidy outside, everything seems to work. think its due an oil change.any advice appreciated. Thanks Simon
I had a 9-5 Griffin for about 4 years and it never missed a beat.
I changed the oil every year and that was about it.
Not bad to drive and a half decent turn of speed when needed.
They are pretty loaded with stuff and the ventilated seats in summer are very nice.
I only sold mine and replaced it with a 9-5 Aero as mine was getting a little long in the tooth.
The Aero is much quicker, and for £60 i have had it remapped to 275bhp, the V6 engine in the Griffin is more or less untuneable so I hear.
The Griffin is more lazy and heavier on fuel but still a nice drive.
I'd see if you can knock them down to £750 or pay a little bit more and get an Aero.
Sold mine for £500 with 12 months MOT but think I probably gave it away.
Even though I love my Aero, still have good memories of the Griffin.
