Hi,

The PH search is under maintenance, so my apologies if this has already been discussed to death confused

I want to change the whole suspension: springs, dampers, bushes, in order to make my car handle
sportier, less body roll, without loosing too much comfort!! Parts must have german Tüv, otherwise I encounter problems getting the MOT!

I remember reading that T16 cars had anti roll bars?! Is it technically possible to install them on my car?

Cheers

Jan

Good Morning,

On my t16s I have fitted Kilen springs and Bilstein shock absorbers.

This has given me excellent road holding whilst maintaining the standard levels of comfort.

I'm not sure if the springs are tuv approved though. Probably worth registering on uksaabs.co.uk as there's a wealth of knowledge over there.

It's a pity that you're not in the UK. My wife wants to sell her 900 Ruby or swop it for a small run a round type car. The Ruby was built with uprated suspension parts as standard. It also had more BHP and was the last 900 built, iirc a production run of about 300.

I am very happy with Bilstein shock absorbers on my Alfa Romeo, so this could be interesting!!
Is your 900 lowered with this setup? Do you have a picture showing the car from the side? Did you also change the bushes?

@Mike: tell her she must keep the car! Girls in Saabs are classy wink So the Ruby has the "S" chassis? Never saw one in reality!

I just phoned to my dealer, the anti-roll bar, they installed on T16 cars is no longer available, does someone know where i can get one?

^ She can't afford to run it. I love it's looks especially from the front. We've had it for over ten years and it's been very reliable but it's showing signs of age now and really should go to an enthusiast. I'd like to have it but have other projects that need my time. I've got a lot of spares for it as well.

that's sad! I'm never going to sell mine, I invested so much money in the last 15 years...
Did I mention that the car turn 20 this month biggrin

Contact a Saab Club or a Forum, it is more likely that an enthusiast buys it!

I need anti-roll bars, so if you know someone...

Hi there Bacchus.

I've had mine nearly 8 years and she's been great in that time.

Has been off the road for the last 2 and a bit years getting a full and complete renovation and upgrade.

Here is a picture of her on the way to start her over haul. Hopefully shows how she sat on the Kilen springs (-35 mm iirc)

Do you have B4 or B6 shock absorbers? Have you changed the bushes as well?

She is a beauty, driver her in good health!

Thank you very much. She will be perfect and effectively brand new when I get her back.

I am running the B6's on her.

As I said this gave me everything I could ask for ride wise and handling wise.

I followed your advice and registered on UKSaabs! How would you describe the ride with your actual setup from a confort point of view? Is it like a 1-series BMW?

Annoyingly I've driven a 1-series much more recently than my 900 to tell you.. (1 week compared to 2 and a bit years rolleyes )

But I remember when I got them fitted thinking how good the ride quality was. As good as my standard, but probably tired, set up from what I remember.

I saw you'd joined up. You'll get much more of a detailed response than on here for your car.

Oh, and nice looking car too by the way.. thumbup
