Hope someone can guide me on this. We have a saab 93 conv (2006), yesterday roof went down no probs, left down overnight, tried to close tonight - nothing. No response at all from switch, completely dead. No motor noise, whirring, buzzing or any form of life from vehicle when roof switch engaged. My partner drove it today and she said there was a message popped up on the SID "open/close soft top completely before driving" about 5 mins after driving off and remained for journey. Message has not appeared when I checked/started car tonight. Thought might be fuse (who knows?), but i'm buggered if i can find where that is - as manual doesnt specifically mention location of convertible fuses. Online suggests dash fuse cluster 20 and 21 which i checked and def not those.... Can anyone help on this? Bit nervous about saab these days...spares, repairs increasingly a prob. Many thanks

The Saab roofs have a host of microswitches (Ive experienced two of those failing) but your symptoms seem not to indicate that. There is a shear pin in the hood mechanism which is favourite to be the cause of what you describe - I'd advise looking into that. I've recently sold my Saab so dont have the manuals anymore.

That's odd my reply above isn't showing in the posts count!
