Help! 9-3 Power loss

Hi Guys,
Looking for some help, i have tried the search function but found nothing. I have a 2001 93 2.2 TID 125bhp over the last few weeks iv noticed some problems. It first started by surging on acceleration, then intermitantly id lose power and the engine malfunction light would come on, if i turned it off and on while driving it would cancel.
Now recently the car is driving like it has very limited turbo power, the turbo used to kick in at low revs, below 2000 before, now its over 3000 before it happens. Sometimes it doesnt happen at all, or if driving at 70 in 5th accelerate and the engine light comes on and you lose power, like the turbo has stopped working.
Iv tried several things, like cleaning the egr valve, MAF sensor, there don't seem to be any damaged pipes. I disconnected the MAF and drove off the engine light came straight on and even with turning it on and off it just came straight back on. Sorry for the long winded post, but i don't know what else to try, any suggestions would be greatly recieved.

The symptoms could be a number of things faulty egr valve, blocked dpf, faulty injectors or diesel pump! The engine is going into limp home mode thus the lack of power. It will reset when the engine restarts but the problem will come back.
