Currently own a "56" SAAB 9-3 1.9 TID with a power steering rack pi**ing oil out.

Can anyone tell me if the Vauxhall Vectra C rack fit? Is it the same or will it need modding?

My 2007 Saab aero (petrol) has just passed its MOT after a struggle to source a new exhaust. Vehicle returned with 1 advisory - “steering rack leak on n/s but not excessive “. Any advice welcome. I have owned the car since new and have been a long term fan. Replacing the rack would seem to be very expensive. Any recommendations for power leak stop additives.
Thanks in advance

Just get the rack re-conditioned. A few places popped up after a quick search.
Or maybe source a good 'used' one, get that one re-conditioned to as-new, then fit it. Saves you having to be without the car too long.

I'd be interested if you'd want to sell it

I had the steering rack replaced in my 2008 9-3 a couple of months back. Cost me £700, that was with a reconditioned one and exchanging the old one which brought the part down to about £300 (I think). It was either £300 or £200ish but I know it knocked about £80 off the overall cost by giving them the old one.

Annoying but glad it to have it sorted.
