9-5 aero maintenance questions

1. Is a sump drop worthwhile or needless on a 55 plate with full saab history?
2. When should the gearbox oil be changed?

I've just bought an '03 9-5 Aero so I've been asking the same questions as you.
Mine has full Saab Main Dealer history. So it has always been run on fully synthetic oil, therefore (after speaking with the Garage) I decided a sump drop wasn't neccassary.

Gearbox:

2002-2009 5-speed AT
Saab 3309 - mineral oil based

Change the oil at:
60.000 (MY06+), 90,000 (MY05) or 100,000 (MY03) miles

Note: Saab changed the change interval through the years. Whilst they advise 100K miles for MY03, it's safe to assume 60,000 miles should be used for all model years MY02 and up - apart from '03 (for some reason).
